As a native German speaker, I particularly enjoy teaching German in all its subtlety, as one of the three languages used and recognised by law in the Grand Duchy. By drawing on a range of learning methods and adding varied exercises suited to each student’s level, I love seeing their progress and their pleasure in learning and perfecting the language.

After a spell in communications, I returned to my first ambition, which was teaching. The variety of lessons offered by Cours at Home has allowed me to develop my skills and gain a thorough knowledge of all the school systems in the Grand Duchy. I have been able to help Luxembourgish students, as well as students from the French system and from many backgrounds, reach their goals. My motto: “your success, my goal”.

Nothing is more rewarding than guiding my students towards better English skills. The self-confidence they regain through their efforts proves that, whatever their school system, they can acquire the knowledge they need by working regularly – skills that will serve them throughout their lives. Teaching English in a multilingual setting lets me share my experience and adapt it, whether they are adults or teenagers.

Since I started, I have been supporting children at primary school in Luxembourg. The most important thing is to help them with languages – German, French and Luxembourgish – and to give them back their self-confidence.

My assignments have brought me into contact with children and adults from different backgrounds and with all kinds of difficulties. I follow some students for years to get them into the International School or the international section of the Lycée français, and I prepare others for exams. To others still I provide weekly support that is also a comfort: in one-to-one tutoring there are no grades, no competition, and there is time to think and learn.

I started giving private lessons, mostly in maths and a little in physics. Since then I have had students at every level of lower and upper secondary school, which has helped me improve my teaching method over time. I understand that many students have significant gaps. I like the idea that I can help students who are struggling, and seeing a student progress gives me personal satisfaction because it makes me feel useful.

The challenge of teaching secondary school students is what motivates me most: through teaching, I can devote myself to one of my passions, education. Whether in maths or in English, I bring my experience to teenagers who need motivation and need to be shown that they are capable of moving forward!

I have been teaching for Cours at Home since 2010 and have never wanted to leave the company, because of the steady stream of teaching assignments I have received since I joined, and because of how reliable and flexible they are.

Since joining Cours at Home I have been able to put my experience in computer science, French and maths to good use. Alongside a part-time career in IT, I focus on tutoring in the afternoons. My satisfaction is seeing my students develop and improve.

This language school is great and the staff really listen. Jérôme Koenigsecke, who runs it, is always fully available and will answer all your questions. Liliana (Luxembourgish teacher) is very caring and teaches with exemplary skill.
I am very happy with Cours at Home’s services. I have been using them for a little over three years now, and I can confirm that their service is excellent. Cours at Home always listens to its clients’ needs – needs which, in my case, are rather demanding, since I am usually looking for German-speaking teachers.
The German lessons with Aurore make for real learning, with lots of speaking practice, interactive lessons, good teaching methods and plenty of variety. I recommend her 100%. The lessons are well organised, with flexible options.
