Lessons and training for adults
Learning while you already work
Why take lessons again when you’re already working
Almost all the adults who call us have a specific deadline: an interview, a language test, a competitive exam, a transfer, a naturalisation. Very few come “to improve in general”, and that’s a good thing — a dated goal is what keeps learning going when the day is already full.
The difficulty is never ability; it’s time, and how others see you. Many carry from their school days the idea that they’re no good at languages or numbers. In a private lesson, there are no marks, no class, and nobody to make mistakes in front of — and the pace adapts to the week you actually have, not the one you wish you had.
So we start from your real situation: what you already know, what you need, and by when. We don’t go over what you’ve already mastered, and we don’t prepare you for an exam you won’t be taking. At home, at the office or by video call, at times that suit you — and, very often, switching between all three depending on the week.

What we teach adults
The country’s languages, refresher courses, preparing for an official test: you almost always come with a specific deadline. We start from what you already know, and leave aside what you won’t need.

Our teachers
How we choose your teacher
With adults, the challenge is never the level: it is the memory of school. We look for a teacher used to this audience — who doesn’t correct like marking homework, who gets you speaking straight away, and who adapts the pace to the week you’ve had.
-
Recruited after an interview and a test
A bachelor’s degree at least, and native speakers for spoken language practice. We look at the degree, of course, but just as much at the way they explain — that is what helps a student progress.
-
Chosen for your situation
Before the first lesson, we assess the level and the goal, then look in our team for the matching profile — school, section and language of instruction included.
-
Followed up, and replaceable
An adviser reviews progress with you every four to six weeks. If you don’t get on, you can change teacher whenever you ask — no reason needed and at no cost.

I contacted Cours At Home to take Luxembourgish lessons. The lessons are tailored to what we ask for, and scheduling lessons with the teacher is very flexible. I really recommend it, I’m very satisfied.
This language school is great and the staff really listen. Jérôme Koenigsecke, who runs it, is always fully available and will answer all your questions. Liliana (Luxembourgish teacher) is very caring and teaches with exemplary skill.
I am very happy with Cours at Home’s services. I have been using them for a little over three years now, and I can confirm that their service is excellent. Cours at Home always listens to its clients’ needs – needs which, in my case, are rather demanding, since I am usually looking for German-speaking teachers.
I took German and Luxembourgish lessons with Cours at Home and I’m very satisfied. The lessons are well structured and tailored, and the trainers are good teachers. It really helped me progress. I recommend them without hesitation.
The German lessons with Aurore make for real learning, with lots of speaking practice, interactive lessons, good teaching methods and plenty of variety. I recommend her 100%. The lessons are well organised, with flexible options.
Frequently asked questions
What people ask us most
Have a question? Call us now
+352 26 30 27 90I haven’t opened a book in twenty years. Will I be able to keep up?
Yes, and you’re the rule rather than the exception. There are no marks, no class, and nobody to make mistakes in front of: that’s exactly what makes private lessons effective for adults with bad memories of school.
My schedule changes from week to week. Does that work?
Yes. Time slots are agreed with the teacher and moved when needed; many of our adult learners switch between in-person lessons and video calls depending on their week. There’s no long-term commitment.
Do you prepare for official tests?
Yes — the naturalisation language test, English certifications, professional exams. We don’t run the exams, we prepare you for them: the format needs practising as much as the content, and that’s often what’s missing for someone who has the level but fails the exam.
Are the lessons tax-deductible?
For private individuals, no. For training funded by your employer, the costs are deductible and a tax credit may be granted under certain conditions — Cours at Home is approved by the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training. If your company is paying, let us know at first contact.
How many hours should I plan for?
It depends entirely on the goal, and nobody can give you a serious answer before hearing you out. Lessons work in packages, the first one is ten hours, and we review progress regularly — you adjust as you go.
